Kanye West Drops Out Of 2020Presidential Race One Week After TellingTrump & Biden To ‘Bow Out’7/15/2020 Kanye West’s short-lived presidential campaign is over, according to one of his advisors. His 2020 election bid ends just 11 days after announcing his run, and a week after telling Biden and Trump to ‘bow out.’Call him The Electoral College Dropout. Kanye West has ended his 2020 bid for the presidency just 11 days after his shocking July 4 announcement, according to one of his advisors, Steve Kramer. “He’s out,” Kramer simply told The Intelligencer. “Running for president has to be one of the hardest things for someone to actually contemplate at that level.” Kanye’s apparent decision to end his campaign comes shortly after election expert Neil Sroka told HollywoodLife that he has much of a chance of winning the 2020 race as an “extraterrestrial.” Kanye announced that he would be joining the 2020 presidential race by tweeting, “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States #2020VISION.” He, however, did not file any paperwork with the Federal Elections Commission to make his candidacy official. Kanye was facing significant roadblocks to his campaign. At the time of his announcement, the deadline to appear on the November 3 ballot had already passed in five states. By the beginning of August, it would be 30 states. Kramer claimed that Kanye had a team working in Florida and South Carolina to get him on the ballot. In Florida, Kanye would have needed to gather signatures from 132,781 voters by July 15 — a nearly impossible task. Without ballot access, he would need to launch a write-in campaign, another difficult process. As Neil noted in our EXCLUSIVE interview, no candidate has ever won the presidency on a write-in campaign. There are even nine states where write-ins aren’t allowed.
Olivier Douliery/ Abaca Press Despite not filing with the FEC, Kanye doubled down about his bid for the presidency in “four rambling hours of interviews” with Forbes. “If I win in 2020, then it was God’s appointment,” he told the magazine. He laid out some of his platforms in the July 8 piece: “I am pro-life because I’m following the word of the bible. Planned Parenthoods have been placed inside cities by white supremacists to do the Devil’s work,” he said. He went on to say that when doctors recommend vaccinations, it’s because “they want to put chips inside of us, they want to do all kinds of things, to make it where we can’t cross the gates of heaven.” If you haven’t registered to vote yet, there’s still time to make it happen. The body found at a Southern California lake has been identified as former "Glee" actress Naya Rivera, the Ventura County Sheriff's Office said during a press conference Monday.
The body was discovered Monday morning at Lake Piru, where it was found floating in the northeast area of the lake, Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub said. "We are confident the body we found is that of Naya Rivera," Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub said, adding "there is no indication of foul play or that this was a suicide." The body is being taken to Ventura County Coroner's Office, where it will be identified through dental records. Rivera, 33, has been presumed dead after she went missing Wednesday. She had gone to the lake that afternoon and rented a pontoon boat with her 4-year-old son, according to authorities. Rivera's son was later seen on the boat, but his mother was nowhere to be found. One life jacket was found on the boat and the boy was wearing another. Investigators found Rivera's purse and her identification, but no other clues on the boat. Video from the dock shows Rivera and her son as the only two people getting on the boat, Ventura County Sheriff's Sgt. Kevin Donoghue said at a news conference last week.Detectives have spoken to Rivera's son and as a result of that conversation do not believe Rivera made it to shore, he said. Rivera played Santana Lopez on the Fox show "Glee" for six years between 2009 and 2015, and appeared in nearly every episode of the musical-comedy-drama. She was also on the CBS sitcom "The Royal Family" and in the comedy film "The Master of Disguise." Ella Travolta, 20, Honors ‘Courageous’Mom Kelly Preston After Her Death:‘Thank You For Your Love’7/13/2020 Ella Travolta, 20, took to Instagram to mourn her mother, Kelly Preston, hours after her death. The 20-year-old shared a gorgeous photo of her mom, who died from breast cancer on July 12. Along with the photo, she penned the sweetest message in honor of the actress, who was married to Ella’s dad, John Travolta. “I have never met anyone as courageous, strong, beautiful and loving as you,” Ella said. “Anyone who is lucky enough to have known you or to have ever been in your presence will agree that you have a glow and a light that never ceases to shine and that makes anyone around you feel instantly happy. Thank you for being there for me no matter what. Thank you for your love. Thank you for your help and thank you for making this world a better place. You have made life so beautiful and I know you will continue to do so always. I love you so much mama. In addition to Ella, Kelly and John also have a nine-year-old son, Benjamin. Their other son, Jett, who was autistic, died in 2009 after suffering a seizure. He was just 16 years old at the time. Kelly and John were married in 1991, and the actor also posted a sweet tribute on his Instagram page. “Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered,” John wrote. “I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while. But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal.” A rep for Kelly confirmed that the actress had secretly been battling breast cancer for two years. “Choosing to keep her fight private, she had been undergoing medical treatment for some time, supported by her closest family and friends,” the rep told People. “She was a bright, beautiful and loving soul who cared deeply about others and who brought light to everything she touched.” Will Smith Talks About 'Retiring' From Making Jada Pinkett Smith Happy in Resurfaced Video7/13/2020 Will Smith has been opening up about his relationship journey with wife Jada Pinkett Smith for years. After the couple went public with their brief separation and Jada's subsequent romance with August Alsina during an emotional Red Table Talk, a past Instagram Story video of Will has resurfaced in which he talks about "retiring" from trying to make his wife happy.
The clip, which was seemingly taken in 2018, features the two-time Oscar nominee talking about his marriage to Jada. "I asked her what does she think is one of the biggest revelations that she had about love? She said, 'You cannot make a person happy.' And I thought that was a real deep idea," Will admits. "You can make a person smile. You can make a person feel good. You can make a person laugh. But whether or not a person is happy is deeply and totally and utterly out of your control." The actor, who shares son Jaden, 22, and daughter Willow, 19, with Jada adds that he made the decision to stop trying to make her happy. "I remember the day I retired. I literally said to Jada, 'That's it. I retire. I retire from trying to make you happy. I need you to go make yourself happy and just prove to me that it's even possible,'" he says. "And after we cracked the hell up, we started talking about how we came into this false romantic concept that somehow when we got married that we would become one. And we realized is that we were two completely separate people on two completely separate individual journeys and that we were choosing to walk our separate journeys together. Her happiness was her responsibility and my happiness was my responsibility." Will goes on to add, "We decided that we were going to find our individual, internal private separate joy and then we were going to present ourselves to the relationship and to each other already happy. Not coming to each other begging with our empty cups out, demanding that she fill my cup and demanding that she meet my needs. It's unfair and it's kind of unrealistic and can be destructive to place the responsibility for your happiness on anybody other than yourself." In the recent episode Red Table Talk, Jada confirmed that she started a "friendship" with Alsina four and a half years ago while she and Will said they were going through a "really difficult time." "I was done with your a**. I was done with you," Will agreed. Jada went on to say she got into a romantic "entanglement" with Alsina.
